Obituary for Mary C. Paulsen

Mary Christine (Ross) Paulsen lost her long battle to pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 68. Mary was born on December 22, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to Harold and Dorthea Ross. She attended Turner High School in Kansas City, Kansas and later Sierra College after moving to California in 1976.

Mary enjoyed and managed women's softball, bowling, playing pool, golf, history and babysitting her grandchildren. She loved visiting her home state of Kansas to see family and High School friends for "Taco Tuesday".

Mary was proceeded in death by her brother Richard Joseph Ross, her mother Dorthea Ross, father Harold Ross, and recently her sister Nancy Ross Craigg, also to pancreatic cancer.

Mary is survived by husband Dale Paulsen, daughter and only child Diane Smith and grandson Jacob Warwick, brothers Don, John and David. She is also survived by four step children; Keith, Heidi, Heather and Hillary, and nine step grandchildren; Nick, Tyler, Kyle, Alexis, Zach, Luke, Drake, Kylie and Emma.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, November 18 at 2pm at Lassila Funeral Chapel: 551 Grass Valley Highway, Auburn, California 95603. Visiting and luncheon immediately following. We encourage you to wear purple and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Pancreatic Research Association.
