Obituary for Marvin Lee Capps

With his loving family by his side, Marvin Capps passed away peacefully in his home in beautiful Meadow Vista, Ca. on April 30.

Marvin was the strongest man I have ever known, and his terminal diagnosis did not diminish his strength at all. Marvin accepted his fate and still remained a source of strength for his family and friends until his final breath.

Marvin was preceded in death by two sons, his mother, father, and sister. They all had to go ahead of him to prepare heaven for his arrival.

Marvin was born in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on March, 9, 1935, but he lived the majority of his life in California. Marvin supported his family as a heavy equipment operator, and he was a proud member of Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 for 63 years.

Marvin was an adoring husband to his soulmate Tinsel Capps for 35 years. He was a loving dad to his 5 children: Rickey, Rocky and Brooke Capps, Jimmy Stephens and Mike Horton. His pride and joy were his 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

Marvin showered his family and friends with love, and if anyone ever needed help, day or night, he was the one to call. However, if he was fishing when he received your call for help, you might have to wait until the fish stop biting for him to get to you. However, he would get to you!

Marvin’s first love as a child was fishing, and it remained his passion throughout his life. His love of fishing was evident with every fish story he told.

Marvin has GONE FISHING now, and his pain level is finally ZERO!

May you limit out every day and rest when the fish aren’t biting. You are in our hearts forever!
